Waiting on the number 9 bus

Josie loves the bus and doesn't mind waiting for it, even when it's cold. If you ask her what a bus says, she'll go "Tssssstssst!" imitating the air brakes.

A nice urban shot of Daddy and Josie--maybe for their next album cover?

Xmas in Birmingham, MI

The Xmas party shifted to Grandma and Grandpa's house where Josie enjoyed kitty-cat-themed gifts galore. She's checking out her latest 'keekee here, while an oldie-but-goodie lays discarded on the floor beside her.

Josie likes to wear Daddy's hat. It sometimes hypnotizes her (not really, but she sort of looks zoned out in this picture).

Wearing Daddy's hat and back to hugging Cat in the Hat.

Thanks for the fab xmas gifts, all! Ciao!

Xmas in Ann Arbor

Christmas morning started in Ann Arbor--Josie quickly figured out that the shape-sorter toy could be conquered by taking off the lid and just placing the blocks directly into the box! I'd say that's pretty smart! Thanks for the nifty gift, Auntie Kathy!

Josie rocks out on the aptly-named Learn N' Groove...Jack has been teaching her to play it "Jerry Lee Lewis style" with her feet, too, but we didn't get a picture of that, unfortunately. Thanks, Auntie Missy!

Whoo! I'm number one! No one can match my mad musical skillz!

Boxing Day Dock Inspection

Josie inspects the dock on Quarton pond....
Hmm, everything seems to be in order.

Sir, are you authorized to be on this dock?

Snowy Morning

Today there was some fresh snow and we took Josie out to help us shovel the driveway.

Then she wanted to sit on the back porch in her snow gear.
This picture looks like she's on the set of some kind of arctic talkshow.

Uh, I think this is kind of missing the point of putting on the snowsuit and going outside.

Josie at the library

In addition to bringing over *all* of the library's stuffed animals (which include a fairly large moose puppet, a small hippo, an alligator, a beaver and a few bears and cats, among others) for me to read to (no picture of this, unfortunately), Josie loves to play with these magnetic tiles when she visits the library.

Where's Josie?

There she is!

Just hangin' out at the Lego table.

A few shots from late Nov/early Dec

Josie sports a tasteful touch of zebra--her jeans have two zebras on them as well as a zebra belt.

The local downtown garden store had a holiday party the other day. Josie was having none of Santa, but did agree to take this orange from Mrs. Claus and carried it around for the rest of the morning.

I don't know where we were headed in this shot, but Josie was happy to show me that Cat in the Hat was ready to go.*

*on a somewhat related note, Josie can say some basic two word sentences now, like "Go, keee!" and "Riiii, keeekeee!" (loosely translated: Go, Kitty! and Ride, Kitty!) thanks to one of her favorite videos on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6H6CcGiuFo)

First haircut

Now that Halloween is over, Josie's "hockey hair" is no longer needed. We decided it was time for her first hair cut.

Josie was not so sure about this idea.

Good thing Josie can't see my expression (nor has she seen Sweeney Todd [which involves a barber and murder and meat pies]). And, yes, I'm using "regular" scissors because I have no idea where we packed the nice haircutting scissors my mom sent.

How do you like my sassy new 'do?

The old apartment

We finally sold our Chicago apartment last week, to our great relief. But we have a lot of nice memories of Rockwell and Haddon:

Goodbye, Haddon street!
