This pic is a little blurry, but you can see how happy Harriet is in the exersaucer. We're borrowing it from some friends.
Exersaucer love runs in the family...this is a picture of Josie at almost the exact same age that Harriet is now enjoying the exersaucer at the gym that I used to go to in Chicago.

Those darn whistle pigs!
Here's a candid of one of the *five* groundhogs (AKA woodchucks or whistle pigs) that, until recently, have been making themselves comfortable under our deck. Once they started gnawing on our porch posts (literally chucking our wood), eating our plants and roaming fairly fearlessly around our backyard, we decided it was time to call Critter Control. So far, they've trapped four and we're just waiting on what (we think) is the last one. Then we have to figure out a way to secure our deck so that it doesn't become a Wild Kingdom condominium hot spot.
More pix from NH--baby love
Harriet was treated like a demi-goddess by her cousins. Here they all sit around her and try to make her smile or laugh. As usual, she only has eyes for her big sister, Josie.
There was a lot of time spent like this, circled around Harriet and waving toys and making funny faces. It was kind of like a baby cult.
Cousin Isabella holds the prize for now.
And here's a shot of cousin Cassandra enjoying some Harriet-time.

Josie and the kid run 2
Here's a picture of Josie just "after" the Dexter-Ann Arbor kid run. I say "after" because they ended up starting the kid run a little earlier than the original time (due to imminent thunder storms, I think), so by the time we got to the track there was already a stampede of toddlers heading towards us (the next heat was the bigger kids). She still managed to get a medal and even a piece of bagel. You may remember her first Dexter-Ann Arbor kid run from last year which she ran the day before I did the half marathon (about four months pregnant with Harriet at the time). This year I downgraded my registration from the half marathon all the way to the 5K...turns out that chasing around after two kids, working full time, breast-feeding, trying to finish writing a book and occasionally sleeping for an hour or two at a time doesn't leave a lot of time for training for a half marathon. I've got high hopes for next year though...stay tuned.
