Our new favorite piece of baby furniture is the bassinet. We've got it next to the bed and for the last two nights I've finally been able to sleep somewhere besides sitting up on the couch or in the chair next to her crib (I was sleeping sitting up by choice because it was too uncomfortable until just recently to lay down completely). She's just too little for the crib right now...the bassinet is a much better size and it's great to have her in the room with us. Another plus is that it rocks from side to side, so if she starts to fuss we can just reach over and try to calm her...it's usually good for at least a temporary fix.
In the first picture here you can see her worm toy...earlier today our four-and-a-half year old friend Henry came by to meet Josie and he wanted to give the baby a toy. We gave him the worm and he brought it to her but was unimpressed by her reaction to it (she was sleeping). He was on the phone later with his dad and he asked him in an exasperated tone to "*puh-leeeze* bring a toy for a baby that's *better* than a worm."
And here's a close-up of her sleeping peacefully in her new bed. Let's hope she keeps this up for the rest of the night.
