Josie has been with us for two weeks now (as of 10:17pm later tonight). She shares her March 18th birthday with a number of famous folks including:
Irene Cara (we are totally doing a Flashdance nursery theme now!)
Queen Latifah (musician)
Grover Cleveland (did you know he was president twice? I didn't either)
John Calhoun (former Vice President)
John Updike (writer)
George Plimpton (writer)
Charlie Pride (musician)
Wilson Pickett (musician--famous for "In the Midnight Hour")
Edgar Cayce (psychic)
F.W. de Klerk (former S. African president who shared Nobel Peace Prize with Nelson Mandela)
Rimsky-Korsakov (Russian composer)
Ernest Gallo (winemaker)
Ben Cohen (co-founder of Ben & Jerry's)
Also, according to Wikipedia, the Stanley Cup came to be on March 18th, 1893. Maybe she'll be a big hockey fan like her dad.
UPDATE: I forgot to mention one of the most famous people Josie shares a birthday with...my brother's wife, her Auntie Melissa! And she *almost* managed to be a St. Patrick's day baby and share a birthday with our friend Pam (whose initials spell PAT which is pretty darn cool and something Josie wouldn't have managed). And if she'd arrived a day later, she would have shared a b-day with my friend/coworker Paula, librarian and hospice nurse extraordinaire. Sorry to all you April birthday folks who we thought might share her arrival date, but happy birthday month to all (Arlie, Jan, Michelle, Conrad, Paula D....am I forgetting any? There are a lot of you)!
